Gaia Online is having their Halloween Event and I'm trying to work my way through it (very very slowly >_>;;). But I need followers to do some of the missions, so if you'd like to help me out, please click this link.

X3!

EDIT...

Oops! I forgot to say that the link above is for my B.O.O.-sided account (a.k.a. The Good Guys). This link is for my S.I.N.-sided account. Yay for having account mules.

Clicking on both gets you twice the love!

RE-EDIT...

Oh, fine. If you have Gaia accounts, pimp your links in the comments, so we can go on mutual follower-sprees. ♥

Some babble of a video game sort

So... everyone in the know knows that I've been absent lately because I've been raping the hell out of playing Dissidia: Final Fantasy. It's just so fun and there's so much to do, and the game rewards you constantly for things.I'm currently trying to finish Shade Impulse I with all the characters (just need Warrior of Light and Onion Knight), before I move on to Shade Impulse II. I have, of course, already finished the Destiny Odysseys with all characters at least twice each.

Playing this game so much has led to some wonderful observations and geekery.

-- FUCK YEAH SEPHIROTH. I unlocked him as a playable character (as well as his alternate outfit) as soon as I had enough points. Let me tell you, having Sephiroth run around half naked and killing things is endlessly fun. And he has a really really... I guess it would be beautiful way of fighting. He doesn't make too many extraneous movements, so he's very fast and deadly. He fights like he expects to kill everyone he touches with one strike. And that's usually the case!

Unfortunately, that also means that because he moves like he will OHKO everything, he has bad recovery time after an attack. >_>;; Seriously, after he connects an attack, he kind of stands with his sword out before a sort of flourish, which means if he doesn't OHKO (and I don't make him dodge fast enough after), he's completely open for a counterattack.

But it's okay, because I HAVE SEPHIROTH RUNNING AROUND HALF NAKED AND KILLING THINGS. Also, yes, he likes to set stuff on fire. His EX Mode attack (a.k.a. Limit Break) looks exactly like when he set Nibelheim on fire, and he's standing in front of the raging flames. Bravo, Squeenix. Bravo.

-- Have a massive hard-on for Firion. He's just so... woobie. He's an awesome fighter, which makes my life easier. But his dream of wild roses is just so cute. And he makes Cloud run around to rescue his rose which was stolen by Sephiroth. Bwahahahah. Hoenstly, why aren't there more Firion/Cloud fics, huh? I mean, really.

-- Kept expecting Tidus to burst into tears during his chapter, but he didn't! Also, he is fast, which makes me happy.

-- On a related note, Jecht, you are like the worst dad ever. But you teasing Tidus about crying like a pussy is hilarious. You are still a bastard though, and I fucking hate that you spam your attacks. You keep killing me if I don't get away. :/

-- Cecil, you are so so pretty. But that doesn't excuse you from being an absolute bitch to play. Why must you be so slow in Dark Knight form? And you jump like there's a ton of bricks attached to your feet. And WHY CAN'T YOU JUST START OUT IN PALADIN FORM? My life would be so much easier if I didn't have to do an airborn HP attack just to get you into you SO MUCH BETTER AND STRONGER mode.

Just... stand there and look pretty. :x

-- Squall... *hee* ♥ ♥ ♥ I have nothing coherent to say about Squall, except that he's badass and faster than I thought he'd be. Oyes, I will indeed spam all your close-range combos. ilu. ♥

-- Cloud... ♥ ♥ ♥ *explodes into sticky goo all over the place* Less emo than in Advent Children, but not as dorky as in the original FFVII game. But you can equip him with a Snowboard so it's all good! He's not as fast as I'd like, unless he's using certain attacks, but it's okay because his sword pretty much lets him Defense Crush everyone else.

Also, you can equip crossdressing accessories onto him (I really need to get my hands on that set), that gives him extra bonus boosts. Seriously. It's some set of accessories that is only equippable on the girls in the game. And Cloud. Bwahahaha. Yet another point in Squeenix's favor.

Okay, I'm done with my geeky squeeing for now.

*rolls away*

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuugh.

Started my period late Friday night (like when I was going to bed), which was horrifically bad timing since we had family visiting this weekend. Almost everyone from SF came down because they were going to a wedding in the area, so they all crashed our house for a visit. Somanypeopleomg.

So I was on my first day, which isn't as horrifically bad bleeding-wise as my second and third days, but still very much with the needing of super plus size. x___X;; And then I was coerced into driving the kids (all my younger cousins) to the mall, because some of the girls needed dresses for the wedding still. Plus, they just wanted to get out of the house and away from their parents. There were 7 of them, ranging from the oldest (21) to the youngest (10), and mostly in the annoying high schooler stage. The youngest didn't go to the mall with us, so we all fit in our SUV. Whoo.

D:

And it was really weird because they were all on their cellphones all the fucking time. Like, they should have had their phones surgically attached to their hands. They were always twittering or texting or doing God-knows-what, so I was surrounded by little electric chirping noises and beeping the whole time.

It is only by the grace of God and Advil that I survived. And the milk chocolate caramel chocolixir from Godiva.

After we got back from the mall, most of my relatives left, since they were staying in hotels closer to the wedding. Only my Kuya Charlie's family stayed with us at our house overnight, so it was five extra (Kuya Charlie, Ate Nene, and their 3 girls). Thank god we had rooms enough for everyone to have a bed, though two of the girls shared one.

They finally left this morning, and I went back to bed at like, 10:30am after having been awakened at 8am by my ovaries. Actually, had been awakened by then no less than three times (2am, 5am, 8am) because of girly issues, so I slept pretty badly. Slept until 1pm, and woke up in time to watch the new episode of What Would Brian Boitano Make. Have been floppy and curled up not moving since then.

I love my family, but I'm really glad they're gone.

For Sarah before I forget!

Japanese Mochi Ice Cream recipe, for if you wanna take a stab at making it yourself.

Or you could be like me and buy your mochi ice cream from a grocery store. This brand is decent -- though nothing compares to mochi fresh from the shop -- though it gets points for availability. If a grocery store near you actually carries these, that is. I actually found them in the ice cream section of the Stater Brothers near my house.

The third option is being super fancy and ordering Bubbies mochi ice cream to be shipped to you. It's gourmet and super-expensive and from Hawaii though. But they're apparently one of the best mochi ice cream makers in the world.

I still prefer that little shop in Little Tokyo though. XP ♥

Oh, and have a recipe for Sea Salt ice cream, too. It came up during my search, so fear my google-fu.

Hello, world

Man, there is just so much stuff that's been happening that I know I should write a post about, but I've been too lazy. OTL Clearly, I fail at life. Maybe I'll do a list... or bullet points. I seem to think in a bullet point kind of way.

But I just had one of the busiest long weekends of my life, I think. ♥ [info]luscious_sarah came to visit, and there was much dorkery and Disneyland with her, [info]sukino, [info]aoi, and even a bit with [info]chibi_faolan.

I guess a quick rundown would go like this:

-- In 'N Out
-- Disneyland
-- Huntington Gardens and Library
-- Little Tokyo
-- Third Street Promenade
-- Santa Monica Pier

♥ ♥ ♥

And before that there was:

-- Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
-- Watchmen on Blue-Ray (x2!)
-- Shopping and buying cute dresses
-- free chocolate from Godiva

Very much fun, but now I think I shall be a hermit until Halloween because of the overload. XD;; Then again, I tend to do things in spurts like that.

Also, I am endlessly jealous of everyone who has Dissidia and is playing it right now.

*shakes fist at*

So. Has anyone seen the new Radio Shack commercial where they say they sell more cellphones than the population of Scandinavia?

I WANT THE SONG.

I managed to google it and apparently it's called Är vi framme snart?/"Are we there yet?" by the group DiscoCrew.

Someone give me an mp3 of it. ;___; Please?

Guess where this is from!

The noise upstairs didn't disturb the dogs that slept in the barn. They could sleep through anything. But a lot of the other animals were awakened by all the scurrying overhead. Some of them just accepted it... some where pretty annoyed... and a few quietly plotted revenge.

Your only hint is that it's from a movie. A children's movie, actually.

Damn, the milkshakes from In 'N Out are delicious. It's like sucking down an ice cream cone through a straw. I was supposed to post this yesterday, but I got emo and lazy.

Also, I just found out that they closed not only the Red Robin in Mo val (noooo the delicious onion rings!!), but Yamazato's on Hospitality Lane. T___T I loved the food at Yamazato's, especially the boats. They would fix up a special of practically everything (sushi, tempura, chicken katsu, teriyaki, etc.) and put it in this giant wooden boat that would sit in the middle of the table. Obviously, it's for sharing. Still delicious and will be missed.

Where am I supposed to go for good Japanese food now?

... oh, I suppose there's the little place by my house. But it's not the same without the boat.

omgqtfbbq! literally!

Getty Center, college evacuates due to LA fire.

AUGH.

That's my college! My undergrad! I went to Mount St. Mary's! Hopefully nothing bad happens. After all, my school is smack in the middle of Brentwood, and million-dollar-homes will have to burn if my college goes up. Lots of famous people have big houses there, so it tends to be well-protected.

Experiment!

  • Jul. 5th, 2009 at 6:44 PM
Bunny Says Dance Puppets
I have started an experiment! Only, not really. I put my contacts in today and I'm gonna try wearing them for a week to see how I get used to them. Normally, I wear glasses for everyday, and only use my contacts for special occasions. But I do have like, a year's worth of contacts that are supposed to be for everyday use while the glasses were for backup (but my glasses are so cool ;o;).

Anyway!

Still getting used to having peripheral vision, and the contacts have been in for nearly 3 hours. I have a tendency to blink out contacts, or they shift, so that's why I don't wear them more often. Plus, my eyes get dry and I can't find my bottle of eye drops. :/

This sort of vision is weird, because I keep trying to push my glasses up to adjust focus and poke myself in the face. Things are blurrier up close, which is kind of weird, since I'm nearsighted. And I also have astigmatism. F-fail.

Maybe things will be better once I get used this sort of seeing. Or I'll freak out, get a migraine, and switch to my glasses (as tends to happen).

Stay tuned!

EDIT...

For those who are curious, and for those who never believe me when I say I'm blind without my glasses on, my prescription is as follows (right off the contact boxes):

Right Eye: -8.50
Left Eye: -8.00

It is soooooooo hot now. I know I was bitching before because it was cold, but things were pretty pleasant for two months, but now it is A BLISTERING HEAT WAY. 100+ degree temperatures. My parents finally caved and turned on the air conditioning yesterday, and the air conditioner ran pretty much non-stop for 12 hours to cool the house down. But now the house is regulated and the air conditioner now automatically turns off again! At least, until the afternoon, when it blasts for hours. XP

Also, to get away from the heat, I went out shopping yesterday. XD;; Nothing like spending the hottest part of the day in an air conditioned mall. I mostly just wandered around, though I did buy cheesy bacon fries to nosh on. Also, I had a coupon to GameStop for 20% used DS games, so I wandered in, hoping to find something good. And I did! I found a copy of Meteos for only $9.99, so the discount dropped it to like, $7-something. I'm so happy because Meteos is a puzzle game that I've been interested in, but it's out-of-stock/no-longer-printed, so I thought I'd have to pay alot for it. Lucky for me!

Saw a cute dress in a store for only $10 (on sale, I love sales) but didn't buy it because I needed a second opinion, and Aoi wasn't there with me. :/ She's my shopping buddy.

As for tips and bargains (since I always tend to know these things), here we go:

-- Sephora is currently giving away free samples of bareMinerals matte foundation, and a baby kabuki brush. It's absolutely free if you go to the stores and ask. I need to go back and get that, since I didn't know until after I got home and checked my email. Also, sign up for the Sephora Beauty Rewards club if you like their stores/products. Not only do you get special deals and sales, they give you a gift on your birthday. :3

-- Join the Godiva Rewards Club, too. I did! Just for signing up, you get a free piece of chocolate (including truffles!). And every month you spend at least $10, you get a free piece of chocolate. It's a good deal for me, because me and Aoi are shopping buddies and we usually split one of their Chocolixir drinks, which is $4.95, at least twice a month. So I will be getting my free delicious chocolate pretty regularly. *^^*

-- Este Lauder in Macy's will be having a special event around the 28th of July. They'll be giving out free samples of products and stuff. I don't know if you have to be on the list or something. I put my name down because I walked through Macy's heading for the shoe section, and the saleslady snagged me. I didn't want to buy the product I tested (though I'm interested) because I tend to have sensitive skin and certain things make my face go even more horrible than it already is. When I asked if she had any samples, she told me about the event.

Hmm... in other shopping news, I bought a cute wristlet from WalMart, of all places. I've been looking for one forever that matches my red shoes, and this was pretty close! Only $5 (on sale) too! And I didn't even spend money because I have a gift card. 8D! My mom saw it and said she wants one too, so I'll have to go back later this week.

A question for more knowledgable people!

I know there are some Shin Megami Tensei fans on my flist, so this question is for you, since I have no idea what the game(s) are like.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is coming out this week for the DS. I am interested in it, but don't want to waste my GameStop giftcard on a game I might not like playing or wouldn't be interested in. So, who out there has played the Shin Megami Tensei games? There's like... a whole bunch of them or something, right? What kind of a game is it? I read something about how it's like Pokemon, but with demons or something and I don't know if that's true or not.

Please help me! Or else I'll just save my giftcard for 358/2 Days.

I like lists. I can think in lists.

-- Because I keep thinking about it, mothers, please do not let your daughters out of the house not wearing panties. Especially if they're -- for some godawful reason -- wearing minidresses (why would you let your teenage girl wear a minidress anyway). You know what, let's just make this a rule of NO ONE should ever leave their house not wearing panties (or boxers/briefs for the guys, though they can wear panties too, rock on).
-- Oh, and if you're going to be wearing a short skirt, fucking learn how to sit properly and keep your legs crossed or together and tilted to the side in the polite why so you don't flash everyone.
-- I beat the ice cream godz. The Sunday paper had coupons for buy one get one free ice cream at Baskin Robbins, so I went there with Aoi and K-chan. WTF the price of ice cream is so expensive now. But, because of the coupon, instead of getting 3 scoops of ice cream for about $6 (i.e. a single cone for each of us), we got two sundaes instead. So we got 5 scoops of ice cream, a brownie, bananas, whipped cream, nuts, chocolate and caramel sauce, and cherries. ♥
-- Dad went grocery shopping and bought food! Yay!
-- Angry at Dad for going grocery shopping and buying foor because he didn't tell me, and practically everything he bought, I have coupons for. I cut those coupons for a reason! And last time I went shopping I saved like, $40! Grrrrr.
-- I still don't like cats much.
-- I wish I'd win the lottery.
-- I can't think of anything else to write, because my life is dull and boring now. ;__;

Fuck you TPTB

You know what the world needs? Puzzle Quest fanfics. Why aren't there any Puzzle Quest fanfics?! I mean, my wizard totally has a hard-on for Syrus Darkhunter. Too bad he's all emo over his undead girlfriend, but that sorta just makes it angstier and more awesome.

No, this has not been caused by me obsessively re-playing the game. >_>;; OMG Syrus come back! Don't leave my party! I didn't know what letting that dude go would doooooooo.

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I'm slow, or don't get things that are immediately obvious. Like at Disneyland, when I didn't understand why Pet wouldn't let me have a caramel apple for a midnight snack (and I still don't). But this is... bwah? WHAT AM I NOT GETTING? Or is it... not me?

1) Yes, that is me. As a baby.
2) Yes, that is a watermelon.

Do Not Anger the Gods
I had the best idea earlier today.

A snot saturation indicator on tissues.

No really. Hear me out.

See, like how they have different 'levels' of tampons based on how much, uh, 'moisture' they can absorb? Like light, regular, super, and super plus. Well, they should make tissues like that, too. Except maybe the tissues can change colors based on how much snot they've absorbed. Like, they're normal white and maybe they turn yellow and that's regular. But if they turn green, you're maxing out the tissue. And if they turn red, you're probably hemorrhaging and should see a doctor. THIS IS A BRILLIANT IDEA. Because then I could figure out how much snot my body is producing because I'm blowing my nose all the time.

In other news, I started my period too. *stabs ovaries*
